Process control is the measurement of a process variable, the comparison of that variables with its respective set point, and the manipulation of the process in a way that will hold the variable at its set point when the set point changes or when a disturbance changes the process.
Temperature Control Pressure Control Flow Control Level Control Role of Control System:
1) Change the MV to take the process to desired level
2) Hold the Process at the desired level
Proportional Control- How Level of a Vessel is Controlled
Output = E x G + k where: Output = the signal to the process E = error (difference between the measurement and the set point. G = Gain k = manual reset, the value of the output when the measurement equals the set point.
Offset in Proportional Control- Manual Reset
